ARE YOU WELL BALANCED?
Scripture Reference: "I Peter 5:8" Amplified Version
Here's the situation: You've been praying, asking, seeking, and knocking, and now God has revealed something's He would desire to give you and/or something's He would desire you to do.
Your excited because you know God is about to bless you and you keep going to God in prayer. He continues to give you revelation and truth while your interceding for the people of the world, then you decide to ask God what about this or that, and He gives you further steps to take and more things He would desire you to have and/or do.
You are now overtaken with excitement and involved doing so many things for the Kingdom of God. Your ready to glorify God with your testimonies. However, of all the things God has revealed to you only a few have come to pass. You think - no problem I will trust the Lord. More and more time passes and you begin to think now what? You begin to repent, pray, worship, fast, give, and still nothing. You start to think, maybe I heard wrong from God, and that's when the enemy starts to play with your mind. Pretty soon your at the point, in which, you feel you deserve those things you've prayed for, and you can make them happen on your own, you ask yourself why do I have to wait on GOD? Your faced with some decisions to make:
1: Go and make the things happen yourself or
2: Seek God and determine His will. If He says wait - are you patient enough to wait? What if He's changed His mind - do you now disobey GOD?
Meanwhile, while all these thoughts are festering in your head and your trying to remain faithful, you feel you've been following directions, and your feeling like something should be happening. At this point you may start to doubt GOD and your relationship with Him. You say to yourself, "all this is too much." All you wanted was one thing. You deserve it right? After all, God placed the desire within your heart right? What's happening????
Ask yourself - When something was needed, has God ever forsaken you? Are you so focused on the things and/ or the assignment that you've forgotten the purpose behind both is to glorify the Lord? Now more doubt begins to settle in and your wondering what's the point of all your doing, nothing seems to be happening. You didn't ask to be doing this or that. You say, "I just want to live a normal life away from all this GOD stuff."
The last straw - You start to see other people being blessed. They didn't have to wait or obey GOD!
Be encouraged we've all been there! According to God's infinite wisdom - to obey Him is more important than any sacrifice your making. The truth behind what your going through is this: You've forgotten your first LOVE. You really desire to glorify GOD and you want the whole world to do so. Your ready to do anything and everything to make this happen. But it seems as though God has you in a hold pattern. Your thinking all I do is for you GOD, all I want is to be with you. Your ready for Him right now, but He's only allowing you to experience Him in so much (all that He knows you could stand). Meanwhile, your still living on earth - thinking if I could just _________________________ until God comes or else, come for me now GOD!
Sadly, not all of God's children are at the point, in which, all they want is GOD, and all of us have gotten off track, unbalanced in our lives, and we all need to be reminded of this from time to time. We need to be reminded that God is not a liar, if He said it, it will be done, in His perfect timing! All that you pulled out in prayer, God willing, will happen however GOD has designed those things to come to pass. Those things were meant to keep your faith and hope strong in the LORD, acknowledging Him as your source. None-the-less, the lesson we are to learn is: GOD is not pleased by the things we do or have, though He takes delight in seeing all of our needs met. His real intention, His real pleasure is in our OBEIDENCE to HIM! Our happiness should not be solely found in the works of GOD, the assignment, people, or things, but in HIM. Keep things in perspective:
"BEING WELL BALANCED!"
Stay well balanced. The key: things will not necessarily come when we want them (in some cases), but when they are NEEDED!
